Master Jin Song

The son of a whore and miner. Jin was trained and served as a Renet Soldier before he was captured and pressed into Janet's Crew. He has recently been promoted to Marine lieutenant of the JNS Marine Corps
At 29 years old (now 30) he's seen more than a decade of service in the Renet Army. While not levied he would spend his time in drink, women, and cards, and often built up sizable debts to be paid with the wages from his next levy.
He worked for house Geti for much of his most recent enlistment and Has been told countless times he's reached his maximum potential, A Sargent in the Geti house guard. Since being impressed into JNS service he has made officer and begun training his own cadre of marines.
He now sports a sword and shield as is the Jenet style, though his Renet training comes out in his preference for the blade.

Personal history

Jin grew up as a common on the the Ranet mining station Celsun near the Andirral Star Nursery. As a young man he worked hard at the refinery to break down rock and ore in to chunks small enough to sort - During his youth he and his friends visited an illegal casino, one of his friends made a considerable amount of cash in a bet against a low nobleman. Eventually this nobleman hunted down Jin and his friends and killed the one who won the bet and nearly killed Jin. Jin fled the station by joining the local regiment and was sent to the Ranet Swordfighting Acadamy for training.
For the next 12 years Jin served as a common soldier in the Ranet Army, eventually being recruited from the army to serve in a Prince's house guard - there he distinguished himself enough to earn a promotion to Sargent and a second mark of swordfighting mastery. While serving his prince on a mission Jin was caught sleeping at his post and captured by Raye Jenet. During his abduction evidence was planted to make his prince think that he had deserted rather than be captured.
Once aboard Raye's Ship Jin worked to prove himself as a capable swords - bragging that he was in fact the best swordsman on her ship - at 5330.350 Raye invites the man to prove it and makes him Lieutenant in the resurrected Jenet Marine Corp and that he would train a dozen marines.

Education

Jin received only a few years of grade schooling during his youth - but he received extra lessons during his time at the RSA. Much of Jin's knowledge has come from hard experience over classrooms.

3. Earned during a exhibition of skill at Europa for a debutante festival in 5331
