Emile Cooper is the son of two of the founding colonists of Haunte’s Crossing, both refinery workers that signed up to take jobs on the budding mining planet in return for a settling bonus that allotted them enough money to buy their own multi-level flat. There was no grammar school yet on the holding at the time of Cooper’s childhood, but it is suspected that he at least occasionally attended the weekend classes offered by one of House Haunte’s governesses because the man appears to have mastered basic literacy and sums. There are several minor infractions in the boy’s youth for petty thievery, with three sentences to community service and one weekend in the stocks (a punishment not outlawed, but frowned against in more settled regions of the Maxdell Expanse).

Employment

Emile embarked on his first enlistment as a crewman with the Maxdell military in 5322. What followed was sporadic and unconfirmable employment history, with each year passing in part on a three or six month enlistment contract, and the other part spent in the many holdings of the Expanse that he visited over his young adulthood. He seemed to briefly settle on the station Tundra’s Delve, a mining station that specializes in icy asteroids, taking residence here for nearly two years. It is suspected he may have fathered a bastard child of a dock master here, but reports cannot confirm parentage. In any measure, Emile had left port by the time the child was born. Emile was aboard a Maxdell escort vessel off the Kalmath Square run when it was assaulted by Jenet forces. It is reported here that he turned coat and fell in with the pirates. After this he is reported as taking part in the kidnapping of Kyrlous Jenet, and the Raid on Melpomene. He has currently been spotted at the Jenet Estate on Tiber, with other Jenet forces.
