Bronagh Lovegood (a.k.a. Sienna Bean)
My parents are potato farmers and until the age of 16, I believed this was to be my fate too.
The day after my sixteenth birthday, our town was attacked by a band of outcasts.
I was collecting mushrooms near the lake when I saw them running on the opposite side. I didn't know what to do. Most people in my town were farmers or shopkeepers. None were fighters. They would be obliterated.
I sank to my knees in despair. I wept, and when a single tear fell into the lake, small waves started to wash upon the bank. I looked up. An island had appeared in the middle of the lake. I felt a divine pull. I simply had to get to that island. I took off my heavy woollen dress and swam. I pulled myself out of the water and I saw an apparition so beautiful, so terrifyingly beautiful, that it knocked the air right out of me. I was unable to speak. It had the shape of a woman, but bigger, stronger, more confident and somehow radiant. When she spoke her voice seemed somewhat delicate, yet powerful at the same time. Somehow she was both an old woman and a young girl at once.
"Do not despair, young one"
She put her hand on my shoulder
"My name is Kathleen Ni Houlihan. I am your mother, your sister, your daughter. I shall help you face this evil."
I felt a power surge through me. I think I even grew taller. I was armed and ready. Beautiful clothes and heavy armour suddenly clung to my still wet skin. She gifted me a battle axe and named it Tua.
Determined and strong, Kathleen and I ran to town and somehow made it there just as the hooligans arrived. We annihilated them. When Tua cleaved the last enemy, Kathleen walked up to me, kissed me, and disappeared.
I was declared a hero and celebrated. But I felt soon that my people were intimidated by me. I was no longer one of them. The boy I had loved before grew resentful and jealous of my power.
So I left. And I vowed to always protect those who cannot protect themselves.
In addtition, my childhood dream was to once be part of a mariachi band.
