Hommuspaeru (Hôhmm U Speeh Ruu)
A Summertime ceremony that celebrates the call of the adventure for young Hobbits. Named after bumblebees collecting nectar and pollen. The youngest hobbits dress up as bumblebees and go door to door, to collect food for the banquet that is held at the end of the midday. There's no official endtime but it mostly ends sometime before dawn.
At the opening of the ceremony, the youngest hobbits will bring the food that they have collected to the large cooking pot, which has been decorated to look like a hive for the occasion. They whirlingly move around the field, making buzzing noises and pretend to fly back to the hive.
After they have delivered the food, they get to drink a little cup of honey mead. For most of the young hobbits, this is a very special moment.
