It saddens me to tell you that planet has been invaded by aliens. Outsiders, parasitic beings from another world have made themselves at home, right here (taps head) in your skulls. That's what your powers are: borrowed, dangerous, and not truly your own.
The Outsiders robbed your people of your destiny when they gave you these "gifts". The powers you wield are far greater than anything mortals were meant to possess. If you saw a child playing with a loaded gun, would you not take it away from them? You don't do it to be cruel to the child, you do it because the child is not fit to handle such a dangerous object.
That is how it is for us. These powers make your kind a threat not only to yourselves, but to the rest of the universe as well. We are here to set you free from the Outsiders. They seek to enslave you, you know. They grant you powers, yes; but you think they take nothing in return?
