Archmage Leonora Katarina Selivus

Leanora Selivus is probably the most accomplished arcane spellcaster that the current age of Plavithen has produced.
In addition to studying her own style of magical power, she has spent a great deal of time interviewing bards, sorcerers, and even those to whom arcane magic is a sideline such as arcane tricksters and eldritch knights in an effort to more completely understand magic that is created and controlled solely by the skill of the wielder rather than via tapping into an external source like warlocks, clerics, paladins, druids, and rangers do.
People who have never met her often expect the archmage to be a stooped, aged, pale figure with stringy hair and fair skin, withered hands clasping some enormous tome. And while she is in her mid-seventies, these people are often shocked to find the statuesque, regal matriarch that actually bears the name.

Education

Leonora Selivus was educated at the Rantoram School for Magic in On'Tabar. After graduation, she sought, and quickly achieved a professorship at the school and splits her time between traveling for research and teaching the next generation of mages. She probably has more magical knowledge than the four next most accomplished wizards in the world combined.

Employment

Leonora Selivus is employed as an instructor and an academic board member at the Rantoram School for Magic, and her presence in these positions alone is enough to give the school a substantial portion of the prestige it enjoys.

Morality & Philosophy

Leonora is a kind and friendly person, and has found this demeanor to be very useful in her research. At the same time, she is always pushing, challenging, and questioning the assumptions of anyone she speaks to - she is a teacher down to her very bones.
Because she loves knowledge and sharing it, she has a very pro-civilization outlook, and she believes strongly in the old axiom that you can tell a great deal about a person's character by how they treat those who can do nothing for them.
