Pog

Pog, a country divided into two halves (the communal but archaic people of the North, and the harsh but progressive people of the South) and dependent on its three gods, sits in a high, harsh sea. Split by mountain ranges and divided into seven regions, Pog hinges on both orthodox and ingenuity; quick wits and sensible strength.   In the North rest two Capitals, as they are known, and the ruins of a third called Cradleheim. This is where the refugees were swept in many centuries ago, cold-hearted people from a land supposedly of ice. They were quick to conquer the harshest landscape of Pog, although it is still plagued by the travelling Banes who sweep through on the darkest nights. The Northwestern Capital, closest to these ruins, acts as the home of all Pog law and justice, and where the Empress herself sits. It harbors most of the knowledge of the land, and is a place where mages frequent. Religion here is the most orthodox.   In the South are three more, the Southernmost of which is the newest Capital of Pog. Here they value art, interpreting religion, creative expression, and divination--although magic itself is viewed as a trifle, and not to be taken as a serious craft.   To the East is the thriving port Capital, wedged next to a thriving forest and between the North and the South. To the West, another coastal Capital sits; however, it is also the nearest to the center, and acts as a hotbed for any of those who wish to pursue the fighting arts to best defend Pog.   And at the center, between the cusp of two fearsome mountain ranges and in the heart of a lake that tastes of salt, reaches the spire towards the three moons, at the base of which the three gods supposedly reside and view the world through their orbs.
