Pohet

Pohet is a world based on historical people, places, and events all with a fantasy spin to tie them all together. While based on history everything that may have real-world basis has been combined with a heavy hand of storytelling and is not what I would call historical fiction.   There are empires that have the military structure of post-Marian Roman legions with the legacy of Alexander's Macedonian conquests of the East. Historical leaders similar to the likes of Hannibal, Charlemagne, Saladin, and Queen Elizabeth leading nations containing a variety of fantasy races. As well as strange places that bear resemblance to the real world with a twist. Like what would happen if St. Patrick didn't banish the snakes of Ireland because they were dragons? Or what if Vlad the Impaler was actually a vampire but a helpless romantic and treated his people fairly?   I have been working on Pohet for roughly 10 months through various notebooks and google docs and as I work out my mess of notes will transfer them here. I am no artist and cannot claim everything on this page is owned by me, which means I will cite the proper source when and where I can. (Except for most of the maps...I always try to make my own maps using the software I paid for... :))
