Själla

Själla is the biggest island of the Danerheimien Islands and with Koppen-Haven located on Själla its also the most important one for the Kingdom of Danerheim. The island borders the Eastern Strait to its east and the Borgenberger Strait to its west placing it right in between the two main trade routes between the rest of the Pommeranien Sea and the wide open world, giving the island a strategic position in the international trade.

Själla neighbours the main Danerheimien islands of Bola and Lolla to the south, as well as Odla to the west. In the east, Själla is bordering to the Svadien mainland with the Eastern Strait only separating the island from Svaden with 5,2 km at its narrowest point, the so-called Lunter Ford. Here a ferry sails from the fortress city of Lunt located on the mainland to the city of Snekheim on Själla.

Geography

Själla is mostly plain with its highest point, Kobka, measuring in about 122,9 km². This land is rich nutrients and makes the soil excellent for farmland, which itself led to massiv deforestation of the island in an effort to create more arable land to feed the growing need for food. The few remaining forest on the island are private property of the crown and in many cases not open to the people. If someone just enters such a forest without permission he can be sentenced to up to three months of prison. The only crown forest on Själla that is always open to the public, is the forest Unghab located in the northeast of the island between Koppen-Haven and Snekheim.

Another well known landmark of Själla is the cliff of Sevn located on the southeast. The cliff stretches 17 km along the coast and can reach hights up to 40 m. Due to its composition of diverent types of soft chalkstone the cliff is constantly eroding under the pressure of wind and water, creating frequent landslides.

The kingly island makes up to 53,48% of the Danerheimien lands (not including colonys) and houses 3.354.703 people or 62,03% of the total population (not including colonys) of the kingdome. The five largest citys are: Koppen-Haven (1.203.457), Rokheim (49.637), Vading (48.239), Utting (45.632), Kors (42.801).
