Petrifying Gaze
When looking at a Gorgon from within 30ft, a character must make a DC 15 Fortitude or Will save (whichever is lower) to resist looking into a medusa's eyes. Upon failure the recipient is paralyzed as appropriate to the type of Gorgon. Gorgon will turn them to stone. Gergon turns them to statues made of salt. Finally, a Gerugon will simply paralyze the opponent until they pass the same save, rendering them unable to take actions. Gorgon and Gergons turn the viewer into statues permanently, unless affected by spells to combat this paralysis. This affect persists even through death, until the eye is completely decomposed after five days, is eaten by animals or vermin, or unless preserved in some fashion.
Characters can fight a Gorgon with their eyes closed, but treat the Gorgon as invisible unless they have an alternative form of sight, such as blindsight or tremorsense. Petrifying gaze does not work if the Gorgon does not have line of sight. Gorgons looking into a mirror can also be affected by their own gaze, and are also affected by all Gaze attacks.
Petrifying gaze does not work if a Gorgon is transformed into a different creature. Creatures must be able to see the eyes of a Gorgon to be affected, even if the Gorgon cannot see them, this still takes effect.
Poison
Applied on any wound inflicted by a Gorgon, as their weapons are all coated in this poison, including their arrows. On a failed fortitude save of dc 14, the injured takes 2 points of poison damage, and they feel a burning sensation whenever they close their eyes. They take a -1 cumulative penalty each round against gaze attacks, only stopping if they pass a DC 14 fortitude save. During this time, so long as they have the penalty against gaze attacks, the recipient gains a +4 bonus to perception as well. Each round they fail the fortitude save after the 1st, they take an additional 1 poison damage.
Actions
Gorgons can make either 2 attacks with either their short sword or longbow each round. In addition, during their turn a gorgon attacks each character within 5ft melee range with their snake hair.Short Sword: +6 Melee, 1d6 piercing+poison, (19-20/x2)
Longbow: +8 Melee, 1d8 piercing+poison, (x3)
Only applicable to Gorgons or Gergons. If they deem someone worthy, they may voluntarily give a lock of their hair, one of the many snakes upon their head, to someone. This snake, unlike ones forcefully cut off, retain its life, and follows their new master as if it was a familiar. This familiar is treated as if it were a familiar of 1 level higher than a normal familiar, and does not count as a normal familiar. However, this creature is treated as a familiar if it dies, giving the normal penalties for losing a familiar.
If the one who was given the gift dies before the gift itself, it transforms into a Gorgon of the opposite sex of its master. It retains all knowledge it learned while in its snake stage, and swears an undying vengence against the one who killed their master. This may usually lead to the death of the Gorgon, but if it lives, it lives on, as a normal Gorgon for all intents and purposes.- Str -2, Con+2
