Magic

Magic, at its core, is to have a supernatural power over a natural force. This power has been theorized, philosophized, and diametrically challenged. With that power,one can, and has formed the basic fundamentals of reality, and changed them at their whims. Much like radioactivity however, magic can be extremely dangerous if used improperly, and must be treated with caution and respect.

In order to use magic, one must extend a connection from themselves, to a source of magic. This happens by connecting to the fabric of magic itself, a type of "weave" that covers all planes and all things. It may also be connecting to a source of magic either by oath, ancestry, or religious belief.

Obtaining the Connection

When following the arcane, an Artificer is among the more unique of practiced magicians. They follow the same teachings as others, allowing a connection between themselves, and leylines or the weave, to infuse magical items or constructs with said power.

The most ancient way, and many would say the first way to use magic, is to have a spiritual connection with a divine being. Cleric and other religious benefactors gain direct links with their deities domains, and gain the power from those domains. They would do so through prayer, and rituals to the divine.
