Mushroom Forest

Upon approaching the forest border, a sickly sweet musk assaults the nostrils. Before you you can see trees hundreds of years old, with moss growing so thick upon the trees it is impossible to tell if there is more grass or tree towering hundreds of feet in the air before you. Every thirty feet around the outskirts of the forest lie great towering standing stones that rise to ten feet tall, with glowing runes in an ancient, unknown language around them. Every so often one can hear a slight burst of electricity and ozone near the base and in between these pillars as yet another spore falls victim to their enclosure.

The mushroom forest can be considered one of the most dangerous forests within Pondera due to a huge influx of parasitic life inside their borders. Only species with an affinity to parastitic, or mushroom based life, or creatures completely immune to poisons and diseases can survive for a notable length of time within the forests borders.
