Thief of Breath

Developed by Violet Shadowdirk and her black scholars in the central tower of atrum caedes, this spell is meant as a way to deal with large groups of opponents. Originally created with war in mind, to give the ability to kill the inhabitants of buildings without damaging the building itself, allowing it to be used by the guild for whatever they saw fit. Research is currently ongoing in ways to improve this spell and gift it upon constructs and semi intelligent undead created by the guilds war and necromancy research divisions respectively.

Effect

The spellcaster finishes their enchantment, and the air around them grows slightly colder. They go in next to their chosen victim and inhale deep and fast, sucking the breath right out from them. Until the spell wears off, the victim cannot breathe, unless they loose consciousness.

Mechanics

Thief of Breath

Level: 1, 3, 6

Components: Verbal

Casting Time: Standard

Range: Touch

Area: Single Target

Duration: 2 rounds per CL

Saving Throw: Fortitude

Spell Resistance: Yes

Cast using a 1st level spell slot. You move close to your opponent and lean in as if about to kiss them, opening your mouth your opponents breath is pulled from their mouth to yours, causing them to have to hold their breath as though they where underwater for 2 rounds per caster level. They may hold their breath for 1 round per point of con they have. After running out of rounds they drop to 0 hp immediately and the spell ends.

Augment: If your spell works, you may expel the breath collected to push back your opponent by 5ft per spell slot expended.

Enhance:You may cast it at a higher level to steal 1 point of strength per spell level from the target minus 1.


Greater thief of Breath

Range: 60 foot cone

Cast using a 3rd level spell slot. You steal the breath from the creatures in front of you. As if casting the basic form of the spell.

Augment: You may spend an additional 3rd level spell slot to blow out air that was stolen, forcing those within the cone of affect of the caster to go prone, medium creatures are blown back as if they were bull rushed by a creature of the casters size.

Enhance: Increases the range of the cone by 5ft / cl


Suffocating Glance

Range: 60 foot radius

Saving Throw: Will

Spell Resistance: Yes

Cast using a 6th level spell slot. Anyone who sees your newly perfect allure has the effects of Thief of Breath cast on them, as above.

Augment: Anyone who is currently looking at you, must roll a save or be affected as if by thief of breath. This does work across planes, and through scrying.

Enhance: Steal 1 point of str and con for every level above 6th this is cast at. This theft lasts until the spell expires.
