Expedition
The adventuring party makes their way to the town of Rynasen, to collect a legendary magical item.
Gerard Armistace called the party to the center of town at high noon, to give them a critically important mission for the town. The scribes of the town had found records of a magical item that could help repair the walls of the town. They found that the item in question was in the home country of Rynasen.
After gaining their quest, they travel to the city, encountering the guardians of Ryanasen, notably, the brass dragon Vebran, who escorts the party into town. They are brought to the grand library of Elder Glimmer, and trade knowledge for knowlege, where she told them of the temple in the center of the lake, being watched over by a black dragon. They then go to Elder Vebran, where they purchase a few essentials, including scrolls to allow them to breathe underwater as well.
Gathering their supplies, the party sets off on Vebrans personal boat to the center of the lake, where he helps them get to the temple. The party enter, and after exploring a room, are attacked by a hydra, who does quite a bit of damage to them, but is ultimately defeated. Needing to lick their wounds, the party retreats after just the 2nd room in the dungeon.
After returning to town, buying more supplies and spending the night with Kaelyns family, they set off to the dungeon again. After scouring the dungeon in full force and form, the party encounters shadows black as night in the depths of the water, sprawling rooms and confusing hallways, and a hellgate connecting to the elemental plane of water. Upon seeing it, Rea attacks the gate, and nearly damages it when it summons a water elemental that the party, after a long fought battle, defeat, with mostly just scrapes and bruises between them. Before hitting the portal again, and summoning another one.
After realizing their mistake, they continue on and find the resting place of the lyre they were looking for to help repair the town. They grab it, and leave. Upon arriving back to the port in Rynasen however, the dungeon they were in erupts, and out came a huge black dragon, who knocked back all who were before him, made his way directly into the court of Cosmos.
The party made their way to the court of cosmos to see three different elders being screamed at by the black dragon, calling them cowards, traitors, and liars for not upholding their end of the deal. The dragons themselves, with the party as the centerpiece for the black dragon himself, had done everything in order to gain audience with the council to position himself better within the city, to be granted a better hoard than protecting the portal in the center of the lake. The elders told the party to leave the city, so that they may discuss terms with the dragon, but they kept the lyre.
The party returned to town, victorious in their adventure, and see that the city itself is prepping itself for war soon. They deliver the lyre, and prepare for the war of Seconvale.
