The Great Seconvale Fire

Seconvale has a great fire erupt and quickly contained, resulting in the fall of the hero Halmund Dragonslayer.

A halfling barges into the fat mermaid, having been stabbed, begging for help before collapsing on the floor. They tried, but failed to find another culprit, and guards approached, taking the body of the halfling to do an investigation. After some searching, they manage to find the scene of the crime, with a bloody handprint, but with no answer as to what happened. Violet manages to find and speak with nearby mice to find answers, finding out that the attacker was a guard, in full armor who killed the halfling. They reach out to lady gray for assistance, and after nightfall they are approached by her at the fat mermaid. Who informed them that the guard force were not aware of any murder that morning. Soon after Lady Gray leaves, Kaelyn Ar'Khalis enters the bar, looking for a place to sleep for the night. The party introduced themselves to Kaelyn and are approached by an elf woman looking for her husband, a farmer outside of the city, giving them a missing poster. Upon inspection, the party found that the entire job board was filled with over 30 missing persons. AFter closer inspection, they found that not a single person missing was actually human. The elfen woman returned, bringing clothing with her to help the party find her husband, and brought them to the field he dissapeared from. The party follows his tracks to an alleyway where it seems he was assaulted. They follow additional tracks, to find that they led to a river, and searching the river bore fruit of a tapestry that was stuck at the bottom. Pulling it up, finding the body of the missing elf farmer. The tapestry itself was a tapestry with a holy symbol of Gryanism, which was plastered all over the local church that the party went too. Following the clue, the party makes their way to the local church, where they got a clue that a set of tapestry makers were the only ones in the city that make that specific style of tapestry for the church. The party wakes up the next morning and go to "The Three Tapestries" a closed shop in town. They break into the shop (loudly) and dont find much but a few maps of the city, as well as an invoice for six thousand pounds of straw, and twelve carts of raw wool, dated a month beforehand. Kaelyn managed to fix the window before many passerbye saw what happened. Upstairs, the party also find that someone had been practicing fire magic, in the center of a room with three beds in it. That is when violet found the answer they were all looking for. "Someone is going to set the town on fire." The party panicked, knowing that someone was in the building within 24 hours, and they had to find where the culprets were before they started the largest fire the city had ever seen. They ran to lady gray looking for her help, but they could not reach her in a timely manner. Turning to their last hope, they ran to Halmund for his help as well. After reviewing their evidence, Halmund comes back to them wearing his old dragonslaying armor, and informs them that the city was planted with large bombs to take out the poor district. He also informs them of the general location of the arsonists, before running through the poor district evacuating everyone. The party ran to the warehouses and find two guards with a tapestry walking down the street. Realizing they had been caught, the guards happened to be twin brothers, who fought back against the party until one of the brothers was downed. At that point, they called for their other brother to start lighting a fire, then runs to the entrence of the building and holds his place there. After a full minute of unsuccessfully trying to get past him, Rea managed to talk him into giving up, to which the man broke down in tears, letting them pass to save his final brother. Upon entering, they found a summoning symbol inside the warehouse, and beliving that they needed to stop the explosion before the symbol was activated. They try to talk some sense into the young man, but they fail to talk him down, and spook him into lighting the explosives beside him on fire. The explosion rocked the warehouse, damaged the party and forced the entirity of them to flee the roaring explosions and fire of the warehouse. Escaping, they find that the mournful brother had been shot by an arrow, pinned to the building itself, taking his life. The party finds that the streets were filled with fire as they hear the roaring of a fire elemental being summoned from the burnt remains of the warehouse. Knowing that there may still be people nearby, Rea, on her last legs yells at the party to run and find Halmund. It was at that moment when she turned around to fight the beast itself, she was struck by an arrow in the leg, nearly knocking her out from the pain before the arrow itself magically healed her, ready to help her fight. The party charges at the elemental, and in but a few short moments, Rea is again knocked unconcious and nearly set aflame. Violet managed to draw its attention while Ella managed to try and help Rea stay alive as best as she could. Its attention gained, Violet is slamed hard into the ground, lit on fire, and nearly instantly killed. Kaelyn and Ella decide that healing Rea was only going to put them in harms way, so they decided to try and drag the paladin away from the combat. Which the elemental took as a sign to continue lighting buildings on fire. The party had been utterly defeated. That is until a flash of red came by, and in a single punch, took out the elemental in a single blow before Halmund, coming to the rescue, gave instructions on how to save Rea, before moving to Violet, and with his last remaining breath of life, brought violet back from the dead. Bringing his body to the church, they were informed he was dead... died of old age.
