Antonio Supremito
Antonio Supremito was a son of Venus. He was born in the slums of Byzantium. As the son of a poor smith he hadn't got any chance to get an education. When his father died his house and workshop was burned down by loan sharks. Surviving on the streets the only way to survive was to sell his own body. Using his divine gifts he quickly got known as a master pleasurerer. Some day the governor of Byzantium arrived at his brothel. She was so content with his gifts that she became a consistent customer.
One day however the husband of the governor barged in and called for Antonio. When he showed up he was castrated and left to die. Aphrodite who couldn't help but pity the young man cursed the husband and healed Antonio. The husband would later fall into a pit of hungry snakes. The governor now without a husband married Antonio. But court intrigue make sure to kill them both. A governor could not marry a lowly peasant.
After the emperor heard what had happened he ordered the purge of the entire Byzantine court. They had defied a match made by heaven which must be punished by death. Later on he build plenty of temples and sacrificed 50 Cretan bulls to gain the favor of the godess but it was to late. A plague ran across the land, killing all.
THis weird myth is an attempt to explain the plague that ravaged the empire. In reality Antonio was just a simple paramour to the governor. She never had a husband to begin with. It is Senatorial propaganda to undermine the imperial influence and blame them for all the deaths the plague brought. This is why we must never trust the senate. NEVER EVER.
