Myth
Corruption had spread itself like a plague through the republic. The state had no money, the senate was a nepotist cesspool, local generals abused their given power and tried their shot at attaining absolute power plunging the republic into civil war after civil war while crime had was rampant and boundless. With a state this weakened the surrounding vultures leered ever so closer to deliver the fatal blow.
It is said that the gods crafted a nameless sword made from Olympian steel destined for the one who will cure this empire of them. Nameless because its destiny was clear but the wielder remained unknown. It took too many years for Julius Caesar to arrive along with Pompei. Caesar was gifted this sword to destroy the current balance of the Roman world and to make a new from its ashes. Once enemies became friends once again to purge the world of this failed state.
Wielding his sword he crushed any who stood in his way. Together they reformed the state, purged the senate of filth and fought off the vultures. The foundations for an empire truly great were laid with the aid of this sword.
As Caesar used this sword to protect the citizens of the republic and his deeds in Claustrum the name granted to the sword was Populum gladio.
Properties
The gladius was made to adjust to the users' divine ability. As Julius Caesar, a son of Jupiter, was the first one to touch it the sword adjusted itself so it would boost Jupiters related techniques from then on. Its molecules adapted so there was no friction between it and electrons. This makes it easier to control lighting with less power.
Current
It has become an heirloom in the Julia family and it was gifted to Robbecus Petrus Lustinianus third son of the emperor of Rome Bard Petrus Lustinianus Tantum, one of the many branches of the Julia family.
