Discovery
At the start of the fourth era when the Green Orc's population exploded much faster than their neighbors they found their pasttime of raiding to be extremely prosperous. A century into their golden age the dwarves began to form the Dawn Empire and put a stop to many of their mountain fairing tribes. When the orcs retiliated with greater number they found their forces couldn't simply overrun a mountain fortress with sheer volume. A few hundred dwarves often defended against tens of thousands of orcs. The orcs could not bring to bere their advantage in narrow tunnels and against steel doors. A ingenious war chief from the north Greentide Hills decided to utilize a nearby plants special traits. Pandora the vine would explosivly grow when give water. By simply nurturing it to take in as much water as possible all at once inside a canon like contraption they could get most of the growth to go in one direction.Creation
Pandora's seeds are very hard to come by. The east jungles are filled with monsters and poisons. Not to mention being caught in a rainfall can cause Pandora itself to crush and kill anyone nearby. The huge traps left by the plant consume many attackers. Luckily the orcs had many extra hands and could often just send a large force to follow the largest vines. Criminals and weaklings were sent in droves to retrieve seeds from the Pistil of the plant and would return and be reaccepted into the tribe as a reward. The orcs also lacked for craftsmen so only a handful of tribes could create new rams from the seeds. Thus many rams are handed down as inherited items. The rams themselves often destroy their contraption after growth as well. All in all, making them very rare. A few sturdy rams have long operated and made their way around Potestatem as battles are won and lose they are involved in. The ram is a simple tool but requires strong materials. Even a novice craftsmen with little knowldedge of Pandora could blueprint a ram, but having the right stuff to make it work is another story.
