Spirit of Death

The spirit of death on Potestatem is often depicted as a gateway, portal, or arcane skeletal figure. Spirits, Temple creatures are a globally recnognized phenonmen. Death for many cultures on Potestatem is seen as a transition to the outer planes of exsistence. When one's material body fails their spirit leaves the material plane as it no longer has ties there. The Spirit of Death is the gateway through which the spirit moves onto the outer planes.
Due to death being a near universal for races on Potestatem, it is one of the most powerful Spirits of The Temple. Though it has no known motives of plans except to perform its duty. Some cultures believe the Spirit to be evil and want to increase death, while others see it as a ghostlike entity that simply observes and acts at the last moment to sever the soul.

Manifestation

Those who have come close to death, been revived, or been asked by those visiting the outer planes have said they saw a vaugely circular sort of bending of reality with the upper body of a skeletan floating above it coming towards them.
The spirit has also appeared in area's of great death as a giant orb above the battlefields, mass graves, etc. In extreme circumstances the smell of rotting flesh, blood, and sweat will cling to area's it appeared long after the bodies are gone.

Localization

As it is a Spirit of the Temple, it is unable to leave the Potestatem Sphere space. Death is also rarely seen outside of inhabited worlds. Many believe living on a world besides Potestatem or Secumum, can extend ones life since the spirit has weaker influence there. Though this is tied to those who believe the Spirit wishes to increase death on the world.
