Staff Lep

The Staff of Lep, Staff Lep, and/or Fey Staff is a unique artifact. After a great battle, its wielder, creator, and the first master, Lep Passion accidentally created this staff from himself. While originally the purple tieflings spell to focus it was morphed by his powerful sorcerer-based wild magics. Its now permanent open connection to the Feywild, as well as containing of a portion of Lep's essence has made it a sentient and chaotic spell focus for all its masters. Horrifying atrocities, great healings, and mass hysteria have all been sourced to this staff's powers. Lep's essence within it contains a portion of his wild personality. Colliding with the turbulent nature of the Feywild, this essence has become nearly bi-polar in the mood. Its changing mood effect what wild magic surges it creates. Surging with healing, fire, necrotic, illusionary, and more magics the wielder must be on their toes.
For example. A famous wielder of the staff in recent years was the Lich Letherdon, who used it in conflict with the Dawn Empire, deep underground. The lich and his undead hoard were colliding with the dwarven battalions for the conquest of a deep rich cavern. The lich famously raised the staff and cast a circle of death spell upon a section of the dwarves. This was followed by the staff screaming out for all to hear, "You stink master! Take a bath!" Which was followed by a small portal to the elemental plane of water opening and hundreds of thousands of gallons of deep seawater filling the cavern. This not only destroyed the lich's undead hoards in the high-pressure environment, but it also smashed half the dwarven army. The lich later traded the staff in secret to the Rhedsy wood elves in return for a few hundred thousand golds and a hundred tree-ent carcasses. The elves reported him stating, "I thought myself above emotion, but this staff seems to test even my immortal undead mind."
The essence that was torn from Lep seems to be emotionally charged, stubborn, and whimsical. While it speaks with his voice, word choice, and reported opinions, it is not his own soul. Just a mimicry of it. Nonetheless, all have failed to categorize the staff vast array of effects that are seemingly endless. No school of magic or odd effect has escaped the staff's wild magic. Similar to a wild magic sorcerer the staff only seems to surge upon the usage of spells or exposure to chaotic powers. 
There are three theories that remain unconfirmed in modern Potestatem about the staff. One, that Lep Passion was able to exercise some control over the staff's range of surges while wielding it. Leading to theory two, if an attuned, and masterful wild magic sorcerer wield the staff, they will be able to do the same. Three, through mere conversation and changing the staff's mood, theory two can be utilized by anyone attuned to the staff. Telling the staff a joke persay was reported by archmage Pepte to cause it to utilize healing, conjuration, or pure wild magic surges only. While this is still a range that contains hundreds of spells, Pepte is quoted saying, "Better than when it raised the local graveyard with necromancy." 
If one wishes to obtain the staff many masters have come into possession of the staff two ways, through the direct influence and benefit of a Feywild diety, or in magic and naturally wonderous location of the world. It has not gone long without an owner. Being one of the few items to be avoided as a hoarded artifact it is the easiest world-shaping magical item to obtain. Many artifacts sit below the stomachs of ancient red dragons, within lich's vaults, or at the bottom of the ocean. this staff however seems to always find a way to stir the winds of the world.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Staff Lep holds a special open connection to the Feywild. It draws on the chaotic, vibrant, and unpredictable energies of that plane of existence to fuel its turbulent onslaught. Leps essence within it has a minor effect on the outputted magics. The nearly bi-polar moods of the staff's essence, or Lep, seem to narrow down the range of effects possible, or widen them.

Manufacturing process

Lep refrained from explaining his actual process in creating this staff but we do know in one of his great battels during a wild magic surge, a chunk of his essence, soul, or mind was torn asunder and weaved into his spell focus, creating the base state for Staff Lep. Several decades later the essence seems to have fused with and taken the staff for itself.

Significance

Staff Lep contains the essence of Lep Passion. Lep was a world-renowned sorcerer of significant power.

Raw materials & Components

The body of the Staff lep is made of a Heartoak trunk.  Throughout the main body complex wiring of Shadowfell memory ichor is inside and on the surface of the staff. The top is an array of shrunken asteroids from the belt made of granite, obsidian, glass, and a gem that changes nature with Lep's moods. All of these toppings are fused into one pulsing greenstone.
