Hogwarts Acceptance Letter

The Hogwarts Acceptance Letters are sent to Hogwarts students in the August or September before their first year at Hogwarts. The letters are spelled so that only the one who the letter is addressed to can open them in order to ensure that the student reads the letter. This is to prevent abusive guardians from keeping students from going to Hogwarts. If the student in question does not open the letter, twice as many will appear the following day. If the letter is not opened by the student within two weeks, a staff member from Hogwarts is sent to personally meet with the student.

A regency style letter folded into an envelope and sealed with a boar wax seal. Written using purple ink. Addressed directly to the student using the location they last slept in the address line.

on 30 October. We await your owl by no later than 30 September.
