Order of the Purging Fire

The premiere arcane order of the EvEstian military, the Order of the Purging Fire's mandate is to "Cleanse the world of disorder and corruption". By their own admission, the normal method of this is to "burn out infection and disease in society." For this reason they are often called the "Bloody Brotherhood", though not without risk.

Members of the Order normally travel and fight in groups of three. Where larger groups are needed, three is the multiplier. While 'working' two of the three will be on offense while the third acts as a lookout/defender for the team, casing defensive spells or targeting imminent threats to the group.

A single trio is normally called a Cut, while three Cuts are a Gash, and three Gashes (27 mages in all) are a Laceration. If there is a larger formation, no one involved has bothered to ask for details.
