Volaticus

Volaticus is an extrodinarly rare metal refined from volatician ore. The ore is said to be formed by the energy of the core interacting with the land and can be shaped and treated to react with the ever expanding energy field. Properly done, it can lift loads upward and is used in the building of the airships that bridge the gaps between the Four Lands.

The material is exceptionally rare and never found in any usable concentration in nature. Instead, vast mines are dug though seemingly normal terrain to extract the raw ore. Refining it is an expensive and difficult process involving extensive use of skill, craftsmanship, and magic.

Refined volaticus has no real resale value, essentially because those that obtain it rarely sell it. Ships built with it require extremely skilled crews and are well defended.
