• year 862 - Long-simmering tensions over the corruption of the Sychchar Court by the thieves' guilds erupt in civil war, ending with the independence of Leathia.
• year 877 - Emna becomes the youngest-ever head of a thieves' guild.
• year 877 - The Court orders every coastal city to construct tall seawalls.
• year 881 - Emna Duskboot accidentally kills her closest friend and spends the rest of her life striving to atone for the deed.
• year 882 - Emna Duskboot helps the Queen of Leathia to invade Helgaab, conquer them, and seize their treasury -- in exchange for a small share of the plunder.
• year 908 - Queen Dorothy Walton flees a banquet after it becomes clear that the hosts intended to kill her.
• year 974 - Fulcher Smallcane saves the head of the Court from drowning.
• year 981 - Fulcher Smallcane dies from drowning while traveling to a distant land.
• year 1028 - Annah Elmebrigge's story begins when she joins the crew of the merchant vessel Human's Heroism.

• year 1171 - Vulfgang Holton dedicates himself to the gods.
• year 1181 - Vulfgang Holton has statues raised in his honor for his great deeds.
• year 1187 - Vulfgang Holton recovers the treasury of Leathia from a notorious den of thieves and delivers it to Queen Harbottle.
• year 1188 - Vulfgang Holton heals Queen Lettice Harbottle of a disease that Leathia's clergy could not cure and asks for her hand in marriage. The Queen accepts. Prince Peter Holton is born shortly after the wedding.
• year 1194 - Vulfgang Holton is killed in battle alongside his wife, Queen Harbottle.
• year 1195 - King Peter Holton ascends to the throne as a 7-year old.
