Invitation to a funeral
A few days ago you received a pair of letters, both on the same day and from the same person: a tiefling bard by the name of Sconce. He is something of a folk hero, having travelled the entirety of the prime material plane and then some. He is an eccentric man, and obnoxiously joyful. The kind of man who would give you not just the shirt on his back but also his pants, if he thought you needed them. He entered your life a few years, seemingly out of nowhere, and gave you exactly what you needed exactly when you needed it. The first letter is addressed directly to you, and the second appears to be a generic invitation:

Old friend,
I know it is very out of character for me to send you a letter instead of visiting in person, but please forgive me for my transgression. I recently learned that I will be dead in just a few days. I don't know what the cause will be, yet, but in truth it does not matter. All I can do now is put my affairs in order and enjoy what time I have left.
Unfortunately, though, there is one thing I must ask of you before my passing. Could you please come and see me in person as soon as possible? I need you and a few others to help with some unfinished business.

Hey, you! Yes you, with the face! You are hereby invited to attend the largest funeral the church of Olidamarra has held in over fifty years! Sconce, a bard who has faithfully served the church for seventeen years, is expected to die on the 15th of April. As such, this funeral will actually span three days.
On the 14th, we will hold a pre-funeral party, which will include a brief performance by Sconce self.
The 15th shall be the day of mourning. The day shall be dedicated to eulogies and reminiscence.
The 16th will be the funeral itself. You can expect:
* A tasteful burial
* The traditional ten minutes of silence
* The traditional ten hours of additional partying.
