Temerity
Temerity is a tiefling living in Montia. She is frequently referred to by the locals as "the Queen's rebellious daughter", but Temerity herself is not fond of this title. Temerity was adopted by Hinfyire Soriel and Ulmec Soriel, the Queen and King of Montia, during her early teenage years, but stands to gain no titles or authority from that relationship. She does not conduct herself with any air of nobility at all, choosing instead to roam the country doing odd jobs and going on audacious adventures. She is a wizard, but does not fight from a distance like most members of her class. Instead she wields a rapier, charging directly into the front line using a secret technique known as "blade singing. When fighting in this way her tattoos glow brightly, seemingly resonating with her rapier.
When Lilia pressed her about her past, Temerity claimed that she was only adopted as a favor to someone else. She says her adoptive parents are sweet and loving, but she makes a constant effort not to be a burden to them, knowing that she was not their first choice. Upir Clathicul later clarified this, adding that her adoptive parents originally wanted Sahala, but she refused them, so Temerity was their second choice.
