Shards of Ethio Organization in Primatis | World Anvil

Shards of Ethio

Shards of Ethio is a guild of mages that endorse the sharing and spreading of knowledge about the magical essences of the world.   They owe their origin to the stories about how the souls of the living came to be, to begin with. One of the beings that was greatly responsible for life in the world, Ethio, split his own body in order to give an essence of magic to keep creatures alive. Meaning a part of his body exists in every living being in the entire multiverse.   As the being who breathed life and magic into the world, they wish to spread their knowledge about it and learn further about the origins of magic.   The mages of the guild research a wide variety of magical subjects from illusion to enchantment to necromancy, from the lowest levels of cantrips to the highest circles of magic.

Structure

Shards. The shards are the highest achieving and famous of the members of the guild. They are the leaders of the organization.   Fragments. Fragments are middle-ranking magical researchers of the guild. They take orders from the shards and occasionally aid them in their research as assistants.   Seekers. Seekers are the lower-ranking magic researchers of the guild. They take orders from the fragments usually and similarly aid the fragments with their research on occasion.

Assets

Most of the assets of the guild come in the form of information. In some places, they are sponsored by governments to conduct their research, but it is not thought to be enough to cover the actual costs in some cases and it is not known where the extra gold comes from.    They also have access to a large number of magical items, and their production, making them a potentially dangerous enemy.

Those who destroy knowledge, with ink, fire, or sword, are themselves destroyed.
