Expedition

The first venture in an attempt to form friendly relations with inhabitants of the Elemental Planes.

The first time that the Conclave of Elements decided to venture into the Elemental Planes, to form friendly relations with their respective inhabitants, for the benefit of both sides. Four different expedition crews were sent to do this.   The first ventured to the Elemental Plane of Earth. It is unknown whether their mission was successful, but it has been widely regarded as a failure as none of the crew returned.   The second headed to the Elemental Plane of Water. Out of the seven that left, only three returned. According to their testimonies, the other four perished while traversing the perilous waters before they managed to reach the first settlement. The settlement was a small town of six Aquatic Elves. They gave directions to another larger city, but the three remaining retreated to report their discovery.   The third headed to the Elemental Plane of Air. Out of the thirteen that left, only two returned. They described that the strong winds pulled their friends and allies from them, and only those with great focus were able to control themselves. They found a small rural village of Aarakocra, but they were not interested in forming a trade agreement or alliance.   The fourth group was to aim for the Elemental Plane of Fire. Out of the twenty-one that left, only a single one returned. No significant information has been gleaned from them, as their apparent loss of comrades and sustained injuries rendered them insane.   In general, the first incursion is seen as a important step when it comes to knowing about the Elemental Planes but is regarded as a great loss and failure.
