New Prime City Defenders #2 - The House Always Wins
General Summary
Prime city’s number one casino, 9 Lives Casino, was attacked by the Kings, masked criminals who swarmed the building and took everyone inside hostage. It was a band of criminals wearing red and black suits with card symbols on them (spade, club, diamond, heart). The PCPD surrounded the building, but no demands were given from the hostage takers.
Luckily, two members of the Prime City Defenders met up at the crime scene to handle the situation. Red Thunder and the Stardust Legionnaire. Together they hatched a plan to take care of the villains.
Red Thunder leaped to the top story of the casino to deal with what seemed to be the leaders, while Stardust went in the front door to take care of the goons. The two people in the top floor, Heart and Club turned out to be superhumans, one with the ability to move at fantastic speed and the other to create psychic weaponry respectively. Red Thunder managed to take out Club, but Heart managed to speed down to the bottom floor to meet with Stardust.
Stardust managed to trick a goon with a laser rifle to shoot at Heart, taking him out. Then two other superhumans entered the scene carrying huge piles of money. Spade and Diamond. Diamond transformed his whole body into his namesake and charged into the Legionnaire who was powerless to dodge because of Spade’s magnetic control powers. The battle became even more heated with Red Thunder joining the fray just as it seemed the villains had Legionnaire just where they wanted her. The four fought it out as Stardust managed to reverse the gravity inside the entire casino making it an even more chaotic battle. It seemed the end for our heroes when Red Thunder was wrapped in metal and thrown into the ocean. Stardust was once more immobilized, and the diamond covered brute managed to tear her suit right off her. Before he could deal the finishing blow, Red Thunder leapt into action to continue the brawl. The Heroes managed to use their tenacity to their advantage and the battle seemed like it was won for the day. But the villains had an ace up their sleeve.
The four villains managed to combine into one. This new creature was a supervillain with all the respective villains’ powers. It called itself Joker and started unleashing hell on the two heroes. While gloating, Joker was grabbed by Red Thunder who held him down. The Legionnaire prepared a device that would split the villain into four again. Joker tried one last ploy to escape and sent Red Thunder and itself flying into the sky above the casino. Red Thunder managed to maintain his hold on the villain and sent him head first down into the ground. Before the villain managed to regain his footing, Legionnaire showed up with her device, splitting Joker into its component villains.
The day was saved, and the villains were sent to prison.
