Astian Palace
A beautiful palace in the desert made from sandstone and glass.
Purpose / Function
The palace is now in ruins but was originally constructed as the home of the Astian Prince.
Architecture
The architecture stresses height and light. Huge vertical surfaces stretch for the sky while glass lets in the ever-bright light of the desert sun. The builders believed in the hidden power of three which any visitor will note in the various towers shaped like triangles.
History
The palace was built as the original home of the Astian Prince. His name is lost to time but he was the first individual to mine and process Astia. He kickstarted the Grand Astian Trade thousands of years ago. His monopoly was quickly destroyed when others near Maetrage found better mines and took over the trade. The palace was abandoned and its location in the desert forgotten.
It's had multiple individuals "claim" it in the millennia since its abandonment. But none ever stick around to care for the massive complex.
Tourism
Few people outside of the region know the true location of the Astian Palace. Locals avoid it because of the dangerous landscape and rumored threats hiding throughout the complex.
