The Waste
A complex network of older sewer sytems underneath Aedylor.
History
In the early days of Aedylor, Kymma Hlothran took it upon herself to raise the money and build a sewer system to dispose of the city’s waste. Gold was gathered from wealthy donors, intermittent taxes, and unknown sources. It was always quite surprising how she managed to get the money. Many said that she had very little but paid peasants and the poor to dig the tunnels as cheap labor.
Midway through, Kymma vanished and the project was abandoned. Various caverns and corridors exist within this abandoned sewer system.
The current waste disposal system is a much more efficient working of small passageways the lead in and around the old system. The old system became known simply as the Waste. It maintains a horrendous smell of sewage and no light to speak of. The Wandering Waste is rumored to be a group of the poor that live in these old tunnels and caverns.
