Bolvagus

When the ancient dwarves of Decorhan first dreamt of plunging their shovels and picks into unforgiving stone and rock to exhume the grand halls and immense halls that would become their mountainhome, they knew these undertakings would require a stout and capable workforce. Hearty and robust dwarves were assigned partners with similar qualities to produce offspring that could handle the mighty task of digging out the mountains. Bolvagus was one of the mothers selected for this task. Her womb proved to be a miraculous anomaly as she was able to conceive consecutive pregnancies simultaneously. Her daughters would also develop into mothers that allowed for this incredible feat. The venerable enemies of the dwarves feared Bolvagus for her ability to bolster the dwarves' ranks significantly within a single generation and they failed on countless occassions to assassinate her. Bolvagus was able to survive hundreds of attempts to poison her and she was able to recovered from what were thought to be mortal wounds. She engaged in skirmishes and battles to protect the excavation of Decorhan even while pregnant with many dwarven litters. When Decorhan presented as a worthy enough mountainhome, Bolvagus retired as a child-bearer and opened the Mother's Mug, the first tavern in Decorhan. When Ulan Tos graced the tavern with his presence, he challenged Bolvagus to a game of drink. Bolvagus accepted on the terms that if she won, Ulan Tos would watch over her children and her children's children for eternity. When Bolvagus defeated the god of merriment at his own game, he upheld his end of the deal and granted her divinity, siting her motherly abilities are likely much better than his.

WORSHIPPERS

Many dwarves can trace their lineage back to Bolvagus and revere their ancestor for putting her body to work for the betterment of her kin. Prayers to Bolvagus are offered by those that wish to overcome a great ongoing or upcoming deal of physical stress hoping to be blessed with a modicum of her fortitude.

SACRED SITES

The Mother's Mug in Decorhan holds a drinking contest and feats of endurance in Bolvagus' honor every Brewday. Participants are encouraged to drink or push their bodies until they pass out. The loss of consciousness is seen as Bolvagus embracing them.
