Personal history

Grew up in a small village of hunters and trappers at the edge of a forest with his mother and father. His family was the only group of kenku in the area, and stayed out of village life to work as undertakers for the local nondenominational church. He passed the time by scaring villagers who came to visit the village graveyard by mimicking the voices of the dead, to his parent's disapproval. He would also break into the church at night to peruse the priests' books on magic and mysticism. He was envious of the gods' furtive relationship with mortals and the devotion they got in return. And thus, when he grew older and restless, Lionel Hegelian set out to make a name for himself in the world, to spread the mythical name of Hegel, the trickster god.

Education

Medically educated in his parents' undertaker trade. Familiar with dead bodies of all sorts. Taught himself to read and write out of pure curiosity and spite.

Wet and Underground Pt. 1
Hegel

Been seeing Balasar writing in that little book of his every now and then. What I wouldn't give to get my hands on that thing. But dammit! He's got me writing now too. I'm in my bottle rn though, no one will even know I've caught the dragonborn's little habit.   That damn genie tho, he pisses me off. I don't care if he can read my mind right now. "I was just testing you," I keep my word, don't I? I mean, I guess he's ok, but man, fuck off. He needs ME. Don't you forget that. Don't you ever forget that. Plus, hey, you got a nice trident.   These cramped quarters make for cramped company. This is the first time I've been able to get away for a while in what feels like an eternity. How did I end up in the worst possible position: wet and underground? Trampled underfoot by giant dragonborn, orcs, and a feral dwarf. Study your compatriots, know your limits. Might makes right in this world, and you won't be able to change that overnight.
