Salliance

Salliance is the result of the ascension of the human, Sally Ann Pickering. Sally Ann was a squire to Sir William the Good Knight, a paladin of Cromwell. During the Hollowing of 1032 AC, in the city of Branton of the Palure Kingdom, a plot was carried out by agents of Zomos to murder Cromwell. A group of heroes, including Sir William and his squire Sally Ann, attempted to thwart Zomos, but were ultimately unsuccessful. With a great sword burning hot with celestial plasma, the avatar of Zomos beheaded Cromwell and then turned the blade towards Cromwell's most faithful, Sir William. However, Sally Ann leaped in front of the blade to save Sir William. This act of selflessness and bravery bought the heroes time to defeat and seal away the avatar of Zomos. Sally Ann succumbed to her wounds, but the latent deific energies spilling from the corpse of Cromwell coalesced with act of self-sacrifice and Sally Ann ascended, reborn as Salliance, the Goddess of Sacrifice.

WORSHIPPERS

Squires, knight, paladins, champions, anyone who is duty-bound to lay their lives down for others will find themselves in the favor of Salliance. "I would die for my loved ones." is a common prayer and pledge offered by those that believe Salliance will bolster their ability to protect those most important to them.

SACRED SITES

Sally Ann Pickering's tomb is enshrined in the Basicila of Our Lady Salliance in Branton. This huge cathedral was erected upon the site where the mortal Sally Ann gave her life to save her allies. The Order of Living Martyrs makes its home in Branton, as well.
Adventures that take watch after a day's journey are considered to wise to offer a prayer to Salliance to aid them in their cause to protect their sleeping allies. These camp sites are seen as temporary shrines to Salliance.

RESOURCES

The Order of the Living Martyrs employs some of the most fearsome guardians amongst their champions and paladins. Their ability to safeguard those under their protection is unmatched as they brandish divine conviction in an effort to fulfill their duties.
The wrist crossbow and punctured leather armor of Sally Ann remain on display at her tomb and are said to be infused with the same divine energies that caused her ascension.
