The Black

The Black seeks to become omnipresent and inescapable, more wealthy and powerful, and most importantly, untouchable. The public face of the organization appears much more benign, offering the best mercenaries money can buy. When a merchant needs an escort for his caravan or a noble needs bodyguards to protect her holdings. The Black wants to make it necessary and preferable to deal with its members. It wants to secure, over time, an iron-fisted monopoly on information, Goods, and Protection. Members must be willing to lose coin if it means destroying a competitor, except when to do so would work against the Black Network's ultimate goal: to make everyone dependent on them   The Black originates from a family of thieves who run a vast network of black markets across the land. They specialize in smuggling, stealing, and selling anything of value, from jewels and artifacts to secrets and spells. They amassed a fortune and a reputation that attracts many other criminals and outcasts to join their ranks.   The Black evolved into a formidable organization of mercenaries, rogues, and warlocks who sought to expand their power and influence in the world. They rejected the laws and norms of society and follow their own rules—or impose them on others. They do not hesitate to use any means necessary to achieve their goals, whether it is bribery, blackmail, sabotage, or murder.   The Black expanded their local protection rackets to a global protection service. They offer their trained agents to guard and protect shipments and caravans of any kind, from spices and silk to weapons and magic. They also take contracts for the assassination of both people and reputations, using their skills and resources to eliminate any target or threat.   The Black believes that wealth is the ultimate source of power and confidence. They spare no expense to equip their agents with the best weapons and armor available. They also hire the most skilled and ruthless warriors for any task that requires their expertise, such as escorting, guarding, or assassination.   The Black values ambition and initiative above all else. They reward those who show creativity and excellence in their work. They do not care about the methods or the morals, only the results. Anyone who joins the Black has the opportunity to climb the ladder of the organization through their own merit and hard work.     Core Beliefs:
