Primus
Primus. A world rebuilding after the destruction left in the wake of the gods.
Originally the world was a relatively peaceful place, people had come together to create a community where everyone could live their lives happily. But that all changed the day the gods appeared upon the world. At first, the people rejoiced, to have the very gods come into the lives of the people and spread their gift across the land, they even introduced the people of the world to new races, each bringing their unique skills and culture. In the years following the people of the world saw a boom in technology, culture, and in magic. Magic was a new thing to the peoples of the world for before the god's arrival it was simply the thing of myths and fairy tales. The people's lives flourished with this newfound power, aiding in people's everyday lives and giving them abilities such as increased fortitude and abilities to enhance their lives through sports or being able to clean their garb with a wave of their hand to providing power to entire continents or curing previously incurable diseases. Sadly this time of bliss was not to last, for the true costs of the god's blessing would soon be known.
The Gods War, fought since the dawn of time, came to the world enveloping the entire planet in conflict. At first, the people were hesitant for they knew only of war in the history books of old, but what are the lives of someone who would dare try to hinder their god and take away the gifts they had been given? Before anyone knew it everyone was serving the gods in their war for supremacy, murdering old friends they believed wanted only to take what was theirs though little did they know they were fighting for the very same reason. As the war continued hundreds of thousands of people perished, and the once united planet now stood divided by vast battlefields with many great cities left in ruins. By this time people started to realize what had been done to them, all of the gifts given to them by the gods had cost them more than they had bargained for, certainly far more than what was given but this realization came too late and by the time they started to throw down their weapons it was too late.
With too much time and effort spent on this world, the gods could not afford to let it all go and let another take what was rightfully theirs and inevitably give them even more power that they would only turn against them. And so the gods descended from their heavenly thrones, taking the battle into their own hands. For all their efforts the people of the world could not stand against the gods being little more than nuisances in their wake as the gods combatted one another, killing billions in a matter of moments as a result of the clashing powers. As the world burned the dead became immeasurable, the release of life force overflowing the Great Stream. The overflowing life force spread over the world itself and in response, the world awoke.
The PRIMALS rose from the burning world as though they were retribution itself, clashing against the gods themselves. At first, the gods were so focused on one another that they ignored these new foes, believing anything other than them beneath them and wholly unable to even harm them, a mistake they soon came to regret. The exact details of what followed are unsure, some say the primordials struck so fast that the gods didn't even have time to turn from one another and face the Primals before they fell whereas others will say the gods actually turned to fight the Primals but were completely outmatched by the raw power of the Primals, but nobody truly knows for certain. What is known is that Primals won, either slaying the gods or driving them off the planet, never to return. This later became known as the primal gift, a world free of gods, and in respect for these beings who saved what remained of the world, the very world was renamed in their honor, Primus.
Now, nearly a thousand years after the banishment of the gods, primus still holds the scars of the gods' war, and the people are still divided, both by political borders as well as physical ones, but alas the people are surviving, and even thriving, for the most part at least. Though even in their divided state there is one rule that all residents of Primus share, never again are the gods to be worshipped or welcomed ever again.
