Royal Household of Eridane

In the Kingdom of Eridane, the High King/Queen of Eridane is the top political, cultural and spiritual leader, and as such has a wide range of duties and responsibilities, which that person can hardly do alone. The individuals and groups that directly support the work of the King himself are collectively called the Royal Household. This is distinct from the familial household that consists of the High King (or Queen) and their relatives and descendants (currently, that is House Elenereth). In general, “household” refers to the support team, and “house” refers to members of the royal family.
Senior positions in the Royal Household include:

• Chamberlain - overall manager of Royal Household, keeps the King’s personal schedule
• Castellan - manages the Royal Palace
• Steward - oversees housekeeping and culinary
• Constable of Royal Guard - oversees the Royal Guard across the kingdom
• [Captain of the Palace Guard  - manages security/Royal Guard within the Palace
• Royal Secretary - manages official correspondence

The Royal Household is seen as distinct from the Government, which falls under the leadership of the Chancellor and is considered independent of the Crown.   Both organizations are involved in the Royal Court.
