Nightshade Vine - Kilfoil
Kilfoil / Nightshade Vine
Strewn about the Mall of the Past's halls is a rare and mysterious plant called "The Nightshade Vine." This plant typically found only in remote jungles, is an unexpected treasure amidst the artificial world of consumerism. With its exotic appearance and captivating fragrance, it thrives in planters strewn about the mall almost randomly amongst other plants, blending into the backdrop of shops and busy corridors.
Nightshade Vine is characterized by its deep green, glossy leaves, which cascade downwards like a delicate waterfall. Its slender stems twist and curl, reaching out like probing fingers searching for something more. Along the length of each tendril are clusters of small, moonlit blossoms that glow with an ethereal radiance under the mall's soft, neon lights. These flowers possess a seductive scent, reminiscent of vanilla and jasmine, a staple scent of the mall beyond the food court.
Little is known about the Nightshade Vine's true nature. Legend has it that the plant possesses mystical properties, rumored to grant protection and camouflage to those who seek shelter within its foliage. The flowers themselves are edible and have been said to grant a sense of constitution. Sap from the vines can soothe minor wounds or alleviate pain. The vines are also quite durable and can be braided together to create simple weapons for defense or distraction.
The Nightshade Vine's enchanting aroma acts as a natural repellent, obscuring your scent and making it difficult for you to be tracked. The plant's leaves provide some amount of concealment. Harness the plant's unique properties, and experiment with the leaves to create disguises or concoct potions from its flowers to aid in your escape.
An alternate name for The Nightshade Vine is Kilfoil. This name can be discovered by reading "Plants of the Mall" in the book store and might give you an idea of how to deal with the problem of being hunted.
I would really love to see links to the Mall here, because this seems like a fascinating place!
