Anons Demise

Summary

Anons Demise is a young but still common conspiracy. It explains the circumstances of Anon II. death, former king of Vandaryen. While the official believe is that the king drowned himself in the river of Aztasye after the execution of his wife, a lot of people think Anon II. had been lured into an ambush and then kicked into the river.
However, there are no evidence for both - official story as well as conspiracy. Although his body was never found, some people tell that Anon II. remains had been salvaged and afterwards burned by his opponents. Other ones believe, his face got excessively disfigured.

Historical Basis

The vandarysh preliminary peace (or Pre-peace)

After the Sisters War had ended for Vandaryen in 1378, a provisional peace contract between Solia III. and the nadjan troops was established. Through this, Vandaryen was able to rebuild its country.

Nadjas Victory and Solias Pardon

In the end of the war, Nadja Orenberg succeded to overthrow her very one sister, the empress of Velodan empire. Because of the pardon by Solia III. for all rebelish soldiers who surrendered peacefully, Nadja was very pleased and supported the reconstructions. She also was present by the Solia III. funeral and the coronation of her son, Belan Neronyl who called himself Anon II.

Anon II. reign

From 1382 to 1410 Belan Neronyl rules Vandaryen as a amicable and graceful king. He was especially kind to the "normal" citizens because Anon II. lowered the taxes. Moreover, he tried to establish a more equal balance between nobles and normal folks. Sadly, some of the lords weren´t really amused by this.

Anons Lover

While the nobles feared to loose their power, Norman Dewinter assembled a group of lords and smaller nobles in order to overthrow the king.
Since Anon II. was highly loved by the vandarish people, they had to be very careful. No one wanted to trigger a revolution which could lead to the opposite end. First they tried to uncover the secret love of the king, a black smith apprentice. After a few failures and their fear vandarysh people would not be upset about Anon II. outcoming, they hired someone to assissante the lover.
To their surprise, the king did not subsided even if he was very heartbroken. Moreover, the assassin got caught and exposed his contractor. While the rest of the conspirators were busy to cover up their tracks, Anon II. married Leara Tre, a governers daughter from Amarntya.

Learas true identity

By accident one servant found letters from an neonoron warlock to the new crowned queen. The servant immediately overhanded then to the blood warden who tried to imprison Leara Tre.
As the royal guards surrounded the garden, Tre revealed its true form - A shapeshifter. Without any hesitation, Visbald Crane, the blood warden, executed the wrong queen.

Anons Death

After Anon II. heared from the betrayal of his wife he first refused to believe it. He thought it would be a second attempt to overthrow him but after Anon II. saw Learas corpse, he realized the possible threat of an war with Neonoron.
Nervous the king sent scouts to legitimize the found letters. A few months later, an informant wanted to meet him at a secret place. Since the king had never been seen again.
