Chapel of Vyra
The Chapel of Vyra was one of the oldest buildings in Meryn and served as prayer site for Vyra, patroness of love.
Purpose / Function
The Chapel of Vyra served as prayer site for Vyra, patroness of love and guardian of marriages. Built from 1090 to 1100 it was one of first the established buildings in Meryn. The first inhabitants put value in amalgamation of lovers. So it was no coincidence that the chapel was the center. Every marriage was held there, regardless of ethnic or sexuality.
Furthermore prayers were held for Vyra and ervery mid summer, 10th July, there was a feast to thank for Vyra´s guidance. After the fall of Santiani, the first inhabitants and rise of the common people Vyra lost importance while religous believe in Serath increased. Approved by the new rulers the chapel was allowed to keep its purpose. Only condition was supplying homeless people, especially orphaned children. This was justified by the fact that love infinitely in many ways and forms in the world.

Alterations
Over centuries the chapel´s catacombs were extended. First to serve as shelters and later as stocks for emergency rations during the Eternal War. After the war the stocks were expanded. Futhermore many symbols were replaced because of the fall of Santiani by new relics such as font. Moreover when Velodan Empire were proclaimed people tried to white wash the dark stone but it only got darker.
Architecture
The style resembled gothic architecture and mostly dark stone was used. Only the spherical roof consisted of polished marble. The interior design was different: architects used many brigth color such as light blue, red and greed to resemble love and secureness strengthened by family ties.
