The Shrine of Sanjia I.
The shrine of Sanjia I. was a small memorial within Meryn. Many people came every year to honor the first Empress of Velod Empire.
Purpose / Function
The shrine served as a memorial to the first Empress of Vedolan, Sanjia I. Velod. Every year on her birthday people came to lay down flowers and small gifts. They hoped to been blessed afterwards and that they could make a wish. Even if no one really knew if the wishes would be granted hundreds of people visited her shrine. Moreover her admirers laid down roses on the birthday of her children. Many small kind of acts were made there because Sanjia I. was a very loved and honored ruler popular for her wiseness and grace.
Known for her love for harfs a instrument builder gifted a unique golden harf which stood next to the shrine. It is said that on her deathnight you can hear the very same song that Sanjia I. last played before she died without seeing anyone using the harf.

Architecture
The shrine was build with common stone without any precious parts such as golden statues because Sanjia I. did not really liked to live in to wealth. In the middle of a pavilion there was the small shrine for the first Empress. Next to it the golden harf. Pillows laid on the stone floor so that visitors could sit or rest in the near of the shrine. Furthermore the pavilion rooftop was held by round pillars painted with roses. The ground was coloured blue so it looked like a pond with water lilys. The ceiling was blacked with silver coloured stars. Children were often told that those were actually made from star dust and that they would shine bright such as in Sanjias wedding night.
