Widowfall Orphans
The most feared assassin conglomerate in Arhinda started as a simple gang of forgotten orphans based in Rill, but grew to be so much more. The Widowfall Orphans 'recruit' into their number very young children off the street, ones nobody would miss, and gives them a new life but steals from them any sense of childhood. They are rigorously trained for subterfuge and killing, and any undesirable qualities beaten out.
Structure
The two surviving first orphans, those who were part of the gang at the beginning of the Widowfall organization, lead the organization from behind masks and never meet anyone except through a wooden screen. All that is known is that they are one man and one woman, and that they call themselves the Eyes, as anyone who ever discover anything more is quickly dispatched. Just beneath them, senior members called Claws oversee the training of the new recruits and do most of the bargaining and contracting, sending out the fully trained recruits without seniority on missions rather than going out themselves. Those undergoing training are simply called Orphans, and those who have completed their first assignment graduate to Knives.
History
The tale of how a small gang of orphans became such a world-power in assassination is a long and fraught one, with many of the original group falling in the first few months of setup. The teens flew in over their heads in a heist they planned on one of the wealthier nobles in the city, and ended up with blood on their hands and on the run. They managed to get away with minimal losses, and found that they could be good at it with more experience. They trained and trained, and took a simple contract to get a woman revenge on her cheating husband, and it only spiralled from there.
