An Oath of Steps

In Telruin society, a thane is elected for a kindred based upon a tradition that has passed down through time since nigh on memories forgotten. The new thane must place their foot within a hole carved into stone and refuse to move. It is then the objective of any challenger to pressure the claimant into walking away from the position of power. The tactics used to remove a nominee vary. A challenger might strike the opponent. If it is a strike, a challenger only has once chance to make their move and then the hit must be a noble one with an open fist above the navel. No weaponry is allowed. Likewise, a challenger may choose less than violent means to remove a nominee. They may speak in the prospect's ear but their words may only span the length of one breath.
