Children of Uldi
The Children of Uldi are the oldest migrants of Alyric descent. Their heart has never left the ocean, choosing instead to remain waterbound on ramshackle flotillas anchored on the Shallow Sea. The geneaological records of the Alyri are maintained in travelling song chests, solid proof that the Children have never abandoned the quest to find the perfect home for their wayward people. Most believe that they have found that place on the water itself and thus they remain, harvesting the bounty that the waves provide.
Though the region goes by other titles given it by the SIlveisean and Baruilden, the Children of Uldi have given the great reef which spans the entire area of the Shallow Sea their own name, Uldi's Garden. Here they dive for clams, construct temporary floating buildings that make use of the natural coral beneath the water, and sing their songs away from the dangers of the Howl that once destroyed their people.
The Children are tall, slender folk that have maintained much of their Alyric heritage, what with blue tinted skin and eyes that shine in the sun. They are joyful when encountered and insist upon making lasting friendships with complete strangers when they can. They share an uncanny ability to remember the names of individuals they have only met in passing, even managing to pick them out of a crowd should they be wearing a disguise. The Children have a light in their eyes that always hints at some bit of mischief, but they are quick to share the joke leaving no one easily injured by their jests. Like the boards of their makeshift islands, the Alyri's last wandering tribe partake of their destiny where the tide might take them.
They make their dwellings from leftover flotsam their predecessors leave behind. Large rigs used for traversing the Rosari Sea have been deliberately submerged, first for ballasts, and second for cultivation of the reef. The seafolk prefer lightweight craft these days over the large vessels of their forebearers. It's not rare to see one or two large vessels still in working order in the center of the bobbing villages they call, "Ratli." These vast ships have modified sails that can manuever a sea colony, but they lack much of their original functionality.

Culture
Shared customary codes and values
The Children of Uldi share a common belief that the sea provides for those willing to provide for themselves. For that reason, they respect and revere the waves and treat the water as if it were a living being. At the rise of the sun in the east, the Alryi will leave their hammocks to splash their faces with the cold water of dawn, then it's off to deep dive for breakfast. What is earned from their dive is brought to the center of the flotilla, and a simple breakfast of cooked seafood is served with whatever bounty the traps have earned in the night.
Those that cannot provide for themselves, the weak and infirm, are given the best of the catch so they might regain their strength. Lying about infirmity, to the Children of Uldi, is seen as disgraceful. It was Uldi, herself, who taught her people this lesson. She hid her own injuries to set her people on the right path to safety. This led to her death. There are other lessons besides. The incident involving the Silveisean and cinderskin. Etc.
