Indmost
The latest offshoot of the land dwelling Alyri, the Indmost, travelled the farthest. In Cerln, the Indmost have been fighting against harsh elements similar to those which their ancestors abandoned so many years in the past. In the white glow of the morning suns, the Indmost decided that northward and colder climes suited them best. They broke away from the Pergalls when the group reached Sunfall Cape. It's rare that the songs keep an exact record of the family names that break away from other Alyric subgroups, nonetheless, as rare as this chance at historical certainty can be, the Indmost family were well enough established within the original migrant group that their line lives on in the records of The Children of Uldi. Same as the Pergalls, the Indmost split was amicable, even warranted as the Pergalls that reached the tip of Sunfall Cape were concerned with the, "... affairs of any people that would live to the north," and as they needed their curiosity and fears placated, a clan of the Pergalls, the Indmost families, that is to say those with Indmost as their family name, sailed off towards discovery.
Upon reaching the island of Cerln, the Indmost Pergalls found a landscape devastated by the Howl. There was beauty trapped in the ravaged cliffs. Growing from them at sharp angles were twisted evergreens, known as algryn. The trees grew with such tenacity and determination especially in places where the land might have forsaken any vegetation besides an algryn. This resonated with the Indmost, for they were the last of the Pergalls whom had not forgotten the songs of their people. The Indmost continued to hand down their Alyric tradition of spoken poetry, and most important of all, they taught the technique of pathing to their children. When arriving in the Sunfall Cape on foot, it was the Indmost that had retained the knowledge of sail. As fear sent Uldi and her people south from the Howl, it was fear again that sent her descendants north. At landfall, the Indmost reflected on their people's journey and decided they would remain. Home had been found. A single ship returned to Sunfall cape with a scant crew of Indmost bringing a message to the Pergalls. They would remain in the north. The Pergalls were glad to be rid of the Indmost as they had grown accostumed to a Silveisean lifestyle.
But, Cerln was not unpopulated. A people called the Anorn resided there. The Indmost do not share the Alyric views on nonviolence. In the songs, the Indmost were responsible for the battle of retribution carried out between the Baruilese and the Alyri. They took this predilection for warfare with them to Cerln, but their unfamiliarity with the fighting tactics of the Anorn sent the Indmost retreating back to their boats. They would sail east of Cerln, to its neighboring island, Pexla, and there remain, hopeful and determined for the day that their people would make Cerln their own.
