The Circle of Shedrii

The mythos surrounding Shedrii tells of a deity with an insatiable desire for chaos and a thunderous fury that echoes through the heavens. According to ancient legends regarding the foredawn, Shedrii was born from the union of the foredawn deity of the sky and the foredawn deity of the earth, a divine spark ignited in the midst of a tumultuous storm. As the lightning bolt pierced the heavens, Shedrii emerged, clad in armor crafted from pure electrum, wielding a thunderbolt as their divine weapon.   Shedrii is often depicted as a towering figure wreathed in terrifying energy, with eyes that mirror the intensity of a raging storm. Their voice booms like thunder, and their presence commands fear. As the deity of lightning, Shedrii holds dominion over the elemental forces of thunder and electricity, commanding bolts of lightning to strike at will and summoning ferocious storms to cleanse the land.   Shedrii's dual nature, being a deity of destruction and chaos, solidifies them as a bringer of change and renewal. They can both devastate and rejuvenate. They are believed to cleanse the land and purify it through the fierce power of their storms, often associated with new beginnings and the cycle of rebirth.   Worshippers of Shedrii are typically drawn to the deity's untamed energy and seek their favor for protection against the destructive forces of nature. They offer prayers and sacrifices during thunderstorms, invoking Shedrii's name to ward off calamity and to harness the power of lightning for their own purposes. Shedrii's followers often include sailors, farmers, artificers, and those who rely on the land and weather for their livelihoods.   Legends speak of Shedrii's wrath, which is said to be unleashed upon those who defy the natural order or disrespect the powers of the storm. Yet, there are tales of individuals who have earned Shedrii's favor and received the deity's blessings, granting them abilities to channel and manipulate electricity.   The Circle of Shedrii's head temple can be found within the contested territory of Wolhirm and Aret-Faen where the Swordfell Peaks have created a natural cul-de-sac prone to powerful lightning storms. Secretive and hidden from all that might try to steal the favor of their deity, the Circle guards the valley fiercely, leaving the exact location of the ancient temple grounds unknown to all except those familiar with the ways of lightning.
