The Faith Empyreal
The Faith Empyreal is a religious order tied to Empyreanism. Followers of the Faith Empyreal worship the Empyreans, a group of folk heroes and heroines that have been elevated to deific status. Known as shadows, adherents endeavor to follow in the footsteps of their chosen Empyrean, duplicating their deeds whenever possible.
There is no chief deity of the Faith Empyreal and there are no large temples. Simple shrines to the Empyreans can be found within homes, along innerways, or in the center of town squares. Each Empyrean is different and so there are many paths to choose from within the religion. A Shadow of Ishmael may learn, keep, and deal in secrets, whereas, a Shadow of Sabine might become a wonderful conversationalist or a legendary bard. A Shadow of Alieska could become a hunter of foul beasts and a Shadow of Theo may devote themselves entirely to helping those less fortunate. Whichever Empyrean they happen to choose, there are enough similarities along the paths that tie members of Empyreanism together as a group. They all meet under the same banner and when one cannot leave tributes at their chosen Empyrean's shrine, they can easily leave it at another.
An offshoot of the Faith Empyreal, known as The Paladins of the Light Concordant, provides security for priests and clerics of the faith. Many members of The Light Concordant choose to dress in the plain clothes of common folk so that they are difficult to pick out in a crowd. The head of the organization is known as the Shadowbright. They work with The Light Concordant to establish loose enclaves around shrines. These enclaves reach out within their respective communities and provide mutual aid to them.
Paladins of The Light Concordant do not have to reveal their organizational ties and often choose to keep them hidden from others.
Tied to every light, there is a shadow.
