Clöbber

"Oi, no, ya dinnae get anywhere near that, ya hear me? YA DINNAE GO NEAR THAT. OH YOU'RE BLOODY BONKERS, AREN'T YA? THAT'S A FOOKIN' CLÖBBER!"
— An angry father

Very large. And heavy.

Only found in the cold waters of the northern seas, clöbbers are large and extremely aggressive. Known to attack without any provocation at all, their massive, razor sharp teeth can work their way through a ships hull if they want to. Their eyes are small and set back towards their head which helps them see out of the water without having to pop their heads fully above it.   Much like regular seals, the skin of a clöbber is lightly furred and a thick layer of blubber sits underneath it. Their swimming ability is remarkable, able to dive deep to find their prey and propel themselves forward at good speeds for creatures of their size. While male clöbbers are significantly large, female clöbbers are about two thirds the size of the males, and no less agile.

You may be food

Clöbbers are live-born underwater, swimming at birth and maturing after only a few weeks. Despite their quick maturing, they don't venture off to find their own mate for a few years at a minimum, keeping with their family until another is born into it.   When they do go off to find their mate, they engage in an elaborate demonstration of hunting and underwater acrobatics, employing every possibly technique they know to win the affection of another. Should they not win the affection of a female, they will continue to try every year until they do, and at times will continue even after they have achieved the affections of a female clöbber.   Their vicious nature towards people and other animals normally doesn't extend to their families, however it can if they deem that a member is not doing enough on their part for the family. The females are responsible for finding food for the juvenile clöbbers, while the males are responsible for themselves and their mates, as juveniles require a stunningly large amount of food in their quick growth.

The opening quote had me chuckling. ^^ But yeah, the article makes it pretty clear why the father reacted like that. Well done!
