Within Cracks

Mountain dragons, more commonly referred to as "dragonettes", are small and sleek. Their bodies are no bigger than a small dog or large cat, though their tails are about as long as their bodies again. They are extremely intelligent, perhaps the most intelligent out of the small dragon species, however they never seem to mature past what a human would call "being a teenager". They live in and around mountainous areas, often nesting with groups of up to ten other dragonettes, within caves, cracks, crevices, and other cavities. They burrow into the stone and dirt, securing their home with rocks and branches. Should you try to enter a dragonette nest without permission, you can be sure to face an unholy hissing followed quickly by sharp snaps of tiny dagger-like teeth into your flesh.

Within Crevices

Dragonettes are friendly creatures, often scampering down from their nests when they hear people. They're even known to seek people out when they're in need of help, though this is often met with about fifteen minutes of squabbling about who gets to ask the person they found about their question. Occasionally, one might see a dragonette in the company of mortals. This might be due to wanting to explore the Eight Lands, or even to simply have some interesting company for a while as they travel around the towns of an area. Though rare, dragonettes have been known to join a new nest if something happens to their original one, usually choosing a new distant place over a local one.
