Sphere of Nothing

Found amongst the desolate peaks spread across the border of Bihulling and its two neighbour countries, Kirchwal and Kubicha, the Sphere of Nothing is something of an oddity.
People are perfectly able to view the Sphere, however, no one is able to hold it and no form of divination can detect it. When attempted to be held or moved, the Sphere will simply float a small measure away from whatever is attempting to move or hold it.
The Sphere is made of an unknown substance and by unknown creators.
No one is quite certain who initially found the Sphere, but researchers are very confident that it was found by an expedition that was sent through the peaks across the borders to search for natural cave systems that had plentiful amounts of ore for harvesting. Only a single member of this expedition was ever seen again and they brought the discovery of the Sphere of Nothing to the attention of some of the greatest minds of the Eight Lands.

Effects on the Natural World

Whilst no directly harmful effect has been noticed by any of the people studying the Sphere, it does seem to draw any nearby light into it, creating an odd twilight space around it. As well as this, it radiates an aura of still, frozen air, causing perpetual snowfall near it.
There have been accounts of the Sphere absorbing an object in an apparent need for some semblance of sustenance, as well as a small pulse of darkness when this occurs. This event has transpired only twice since the initial discovery of the Sphere.
